"I had the misfortune to have to buy this watch for myself; it seems everyone else on overstock buys or gets them as a gift. Anyway, I own several Stuhrling watches, all are mechanical/automatics, and have had no problems. Though if I did I would not be worried as the internet research I've done indicates that Stuhrling Customer Support is great. First I believe that the best attribute of any Stuhrling watch is their hydraulically stamped dials, they are great at light capture and give distinction. Though this watch is not as intricate as other Stuhrlings (Obviously since it is skeletonized) but the perimeter is well detailed and does not have the cheap look of die cut metal, present in lower quality watches. The coloring of the Overstock picture is not true to life, as the bezel is jet black and the propeller dials are a very dark gun metal. The Balance wheel is prominent and its movement is very obvious. However, the escapement is less so but can bee seen, and the pallet lever is 85% hidden, but can be seen if the watch is viewed from the side. It is nice to see the mainspring barrel so you know if the watch is fully wound. The Screw-down exhibition caseback revels a lot more (99%) of the mechanism than other Stuhrlings I own. The case is very solid, and the crystal has a magnification effect at oblique angels. It is also made of Krysterna, so it is NOT as hard as Sapphire (aluminum oxide) but should NOT be as likely to shatter when dropped like Sapphire. My daily Stuhrling watch (not an Alpine) has bad scratches all over the bezel and case but nothing on the crystal, though be careful around building facades and walls as most are hard enough to scratch even sapphire. The watch is hefty but is ergonomically curved so it is not uncomfortable to wear. The watch band is high quality leather with a solid clasp. Those with a small wrist should not be too worried for I have one and I use the second to last loop. Stuhrling does a good job on the watersealing, maybe too good, I like to hear my mechanicals ticking and it is hard to hear this one unless you place it on your ear. Overall I like this watch for its unpretentious style and quality. It�s not an expensive luxury watch but a normal person (those that don�t own a Rolex) would appreciate its value, craftsmanship and good taste."
